During the late 1920's, Ericsson was shaken by a power struggle. The winner became financier and venture capitalist Ivar Kreuger.

However, one of the effects of the Wall Street Crash in 1929 was the collapse of Kreuger's empire, and in March 1932 he shot himself in a hotel room in Paris.
